The very object of the Science of Behavior is discovering it’s causes. B.F Skinner. As for the “science” or “scientific consensus” that dog trainers, dog behaviorists, vet behaviorists – and human psychologists are pushing? Read on.
THE contrasted feelings of what is pleasant or unpleasant are, of course, as definite and directive of canine behaviour as are the rewards and punishments obtained as a result of human conduct. Cakes and the stick, enticement and menace, are expedients used in both cases to induce the desired attitude.
Konrad Most – author of “Training Dogs – A Manual” – the book on IGP dog training formerly known as Schutzhund. Konrad in this statement is defining the Quadrants Of IGP – or what you call The Quadrants Of Dog Training. Primary Inducements, Secondary Inducements, Primary Compulsive Inducements, Secondary Compulsive Inducements. Now you know why Balanced dog training is AKA – Compulsion based dog training. The primary inducements didn’t work – the bribes – the treats. Now it’s time for the compulsive inducements – also explained by Konrad.
Implements to be used in the case of primary compulsive inducements are the collar, the choke collar, and the spiked collar, in combination with the lead. There is also the switch, which can and should be used with a lightning flick of the wrist.
Does this sound familiar? This is what dog trainers are telling you to do. The ecollar wasn’t invented til the 60’s – or it would have been in this book. And that “spike” collar is the prong – Herm Sprenger – he was there. Crating and muzzling – also in this book – not in Skinner. That’s what trainers call “Positive Punishment” that they blame Skinner for – it’s a lie.
What you believe is Positive Reinforcement is actually a Primary Inducement – one quadrant of IGP dog training. There is your treats and affection. Yep – if you follow Zak George – trust me – he knows this. Alot of these trainers know this – but they don’t want YOU to know it. They are scared that you are going to figure it out – that you are going to realize that you’ve been lied to for decades. There will be a war in dog training alright – and for the first time – they will face accountability for their lies and extortion.
All of this crap is also known as “Law of Effect” under Edward Thorndike – this is what society is based on. And it is also known as “Methodological Behaviorism” – the wrong kind of “psychology” that only leads to control and management. Edward Thorndike created the ideology of the quadrants – the reward and punishment – Konrad wrote a book to put it to action.
This mess is also known as “Applied Behavior Analysis”. This is what they are defining as “psychology” – but look at the mess its’ made? Have an autistic child? Are they going through Applied Behavior Analysis? Cause that’s dog training under Konrad Most. You will hear the term “Primary Inducement” from human behaviorists mouths… You will also hear Primary Compulsive Inducement in the autism world.
This garbage has gotten millions of dog killed – behavioral euthanasia. And we wonder why the suicide rate is so high in the Autism community? These kids are behaviorally euthanizing themselves as a result of the same garbage they use on the dog. It’s clearly not working ladies and gentlemen.
Here is another quote from Konrad.
For example, in the exceptional case in which the dog snarls at the trainer and a heavy cut with the switch does not stop him, a beating must follow. Such treatment will in such a case stimulate the submissive instinct, without weakening the pack impulse—loyalty and readiness to come to heel. Such weakening will only occur if, as already repeatedly stated, punishment is applied in conjunction with coming to heel.
When all else fails – beat the dog into submission – and if that fails – get rid of the dog. Does that sound familiar in the dog training world – and the Autism world? Yeah, Skinner would weep.
Skinner called this the Punitive Society – and he railed against it. The man published papers on the negatives of the Punitive Society. But yet – dog trainers are blaming Skinner for all this crap?
Radical Behaviorism – replace your dog with a human child – and ask you what you would do different? That’s pretty Radical isn’t it?
But dog trainers are claiming to be certified in B.F Skinner and his Radical Behaviorism? No – notta – they are certified in Edward Thorndike and Konrad Most. And the trail of destruction left in its wake is immeasurable – and it isn’t fixable. All you need do to see the results? Look at society itself – this is the result of Methodological behaviorism. Skinner would weep. So would Carl Jung.
How do you build a $100 billion dollar cash cow? There it is in black and white – chew on it for a while.
Behavioral Psychology doesn’t care about the behaviors themselves – it is only concerned with the cause. Fix the cause – and the behaviors won’t need to exist – that is called extinction.
But all you hear – stop the behaviors! Shut down the behaviors! Use a treat or a tool! And they claim that this is psychology? Our science? The scientific consensus? That should make sense now right? Make up psychology as you go along.
Someone is lying to you.
